Fort Greene — New turnstiles for the York Street F train station and security cameras for the Farragut Houses are among the projects vying for tax dollars in DUMBO, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

Up to $1 million for projects is up for grabs in each district in participatory budgeting, which begins this week in District 33 and next week in District 35.

Projects that receive the most votes will be funded from a portion of the $1 million that's been allotted to each district by City Councilman Stephen Levin and Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo.

Here are some of the projects you can vote for in your district:

District 33 DUMBO

Additional Turnstiles at the York Street Subway Station

New turnstiles at the York Street F subway station, which only has two, would be intended to reduce congestion and long lines for the 9,000 weekday riders that use the station, estimated at $250,000.

District 35 Fort Greene, Clinton Hill

Bus Pads on Fulton Street

Concrete pads on Fulton Street near Clermont Avenue would replace the warped pavement at bus stops, which proponents say is dangerous for bikes, the elderly and young children. The project is estimated at $220,000. 

Basketball Court Revamp at Lafayette Gardens

The project to renovate the basketball court at the Lafayette Gardens housing development is estimated to cost $350,000.

Basketball Court Revamp at the Walt Whitman Houses

Renovations would improve the basketball court at the Walt Whitman Houses, estimated at $350,000. 

Security Cameras at the Farragut Houses

Security cameras would be installed in staircases and elevators at the Farragut Houses, estimated at $500,000.

Fix Up the Farragut Houses Community Center Entrance

Renovations would give the Farragut Community Center new walls, new paint and new floors, estimated at $500,000.

Revamp the Senior Center Entrance at the Walt Whitman Houses

Renovations would give the Willoughby Senior Center at the Walt Whitman Houses new walls, new paint and new floors, estimated at $500,000.

New HVAC System for the Senior Center at the Walt Whitman Houses

A new HVAC system would be installed at the Willoughby Senior Center at the Walt Whitman Houses, estimated at $500,000.

Revamp the Garden at Lafayette Gardens

Upgrades would give the garden at the Lafayette Gardens housing development new lighting, trees, bushes, an irrigation system and metal benches, estimated at $500,000.

Revamp the Ingersoll Houses Garden

Renovations would give the Ingersoll Houses Garden new lighting, trees, bushes, an irrigation system and metal benches, estimated at $500,000.

Security Cameras at Street Intersections in the 88th Precinct

The 88th Precinct would install cameras at intersections where they’ve identified a need for additional security in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, estimated at $210,000.

Learning Walls for P.S. 20

P.S. 20 at 225 Adelphi Street would get permanent “Learning Walls” that can be written on and pinned, allowing students and teachers to actively co-create learning, estimated at $36,500.
