
VINEGAR HILL — Two people were seriously injured in a fire that ripped through the top floor of a Farragut Houses tower Friday afternoon, fire officials said.
The fire broke out around 12:41 p.m. on the 14th floor of 177 Sands St., according to the FDNY.
About 78 firefighters were able to put out the flames by 1:23 p.m., fire officials said.
Two people were taken to Brooklyn Hospital Center in serious but stable condition, fire officials said.
A video posted to Twitter by Abraham Rosenberg shows smoke billowing out of the 14th floor window.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation, according to an FDNY spokesman.
