
MOTT HAVEN — The man suspected of slashing and assaulting four women in Manhattan and The Bronx was indicted for an unprovoked attack on New Year’s Day, the Bronx District Attorney announced Wednesday.
Kari Bazemore, 41, was charged with several counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon for slashing 28-year-old Nicole Pagliaro across the face while she was walking near the Clocktower building on Bruckner Boulevard at about 9 pm. on Jan. 1.
Pagliaro told DNAinfo New York she needed 150 stitches after the attack.
Bazemore, who has 32 prior arrests, also randomly slashed a woman in Chelsea on Jan. 6, according to police, and punched another woman near West 12th Street and Sixth Avenue.
He is also suspected of striking a fourth woman with some type of blunt object while she was walking on Fifth Avenue near 56th Street on Nov. 4.
If convicted, Bazemore faces up to 25 years in prison.
