FORT GREENE — Police are looking for a man who took a 13-year-old boy’s cellphone at gunpoint last month in Fort Greene.
The teen was walking to his grandmother’s house when a man approached him from behind and grabbed him by the collar at about 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Atlantic Avenue and Cumberland Street, according to the NYPD.
The man threatened the boy by saying, “Give me your phone or I’ll shoot you,” and showed him the butt of a handgun that was in his pants pocket, according to police.
He then grabbed the Samsung Galaxy S6 and demanded the teen’s passcode before fleeing north on Cumberland Street, police said.
Police say the suspect is between 20 and 25 years old and stands between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, a do-rag and dark-colored jeans.
