DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Showtime came to an abrupt end on a northbound A train last week when one of the subway dancers punched a straphanger in the face because he wasn't paying attention, according to police.
The 39-year-old victim was looking at his phone on the northbound A train between Nostrand Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn around 4 p.m. on Jan. 4 when one of four dancers shouted, “Anyone who isn’t paying attention, suck my d---,” the NYPD said.
The man grabbed the victim’s phone and, as the two struggled, the man punched the victim in the face, police said.
The victim sustained a cut and swelling to his lip and cheek, according to police.
The suspect was unable to take the phone and he and the other three men got off at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station, police said.
Police said they are looking for a man who is about 20 years old, but no other information on the suspect was available.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
