DUMBO — A new greenmarket could be coming to the Pearl Street Plaza.

The DUMBO Business Improvement District released a Request for Proposals this week looking for an operator for a seasonal greenmarket at the plaza.

The market would operate once a week, from May to November, at the Pearl Street Triangle.

The BID says it wants the market to serve as a “festive yet functional community amenity for the neighborhood's creative companies, families, and residents.”

The association is looking for vendors to sell items such as fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, eggs, dairy products, honey and bee products, plants and other handcrafted goods.

Vendors may also be allowed to sell and provide wine and beer samples, as long as they can acquire a liquor license from the state.

There is no electrical capacity in the plaza and utilities like natural gas, water and sewer are not available.

The greenmarket operator would be able to enter into a sublicense agreement with the BID for one 7-month seasonal term, with two 7-month seasonal renewal options.

A pre-bid conference and site tour will be held Jan. 19 at 20 Jay Street, Suite 510 at 1 p.m. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Jan. 29.
