By John Santore | December 30, 2015 5:04pm | Updated on December 31, 2015 8:17am

NEW YORK CITY — Subway service on the 5 train between Brooklyn and Manhattan has been reduced Wednesday afternoon due to switch problems, according to the MTA.

Customers traveling on the line between Manhattan and Brooklyn in both directions should expect the following service changes:

► Northbound 5 trains are running local from Franklin Av to Atlantic Av. Customers can transfer to 4 and 5 trains at Franklin Av.

► Customers traveling to or from Franklin Av should consider taking the 2 train as an alternative.

► Some southbound 5 trains will terminate at Bowling Green Wednesday. Customers should wait on the platform and transfer to a southbound 4 or 5 train continuing to Brooklyn.

The MTA will update service status on its website.
