BROOKLYN — A man punched a woman in the head while riding the A train last month, police said.

The 29-year-old woman was riding the northbound A train at about 6:05 p.m. Nov. 23, police said.

As the train neared the Jay Street-MetroTech station, the suspect approached her without provocation and punched her in the head, the NYPD said. The man fled in an unknown direction.

The victim had pain and swelling in her head but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

Police described the suspect as about 5-foot 11 and 230 pounds with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt, a black shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers, the NYPD said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
