DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Bernie Sanders has joined the other Democratic presidential candidates in addressing this year’s National Immigrant Integration Conference, which wraps up Tuesday at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott.

Sanders, a U.S. Senator from Vermont, is scheduled to discuss his immigration policy Tuesday at 3 p.m. via video conference.

The senator announced what he calls a “fair and humane” immigration plan last month, saying he would use executive authority to protect immigrant families from deportation, regulate the future flow of immigrants into the country by modernizing the visa system and reverse the criminalization of immigrants.

Hillary Clinton and former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley are expected go over their immigration policies between Monday and Tuesday with more than 1,300 lawmakers, immigration advocates, educators, business leaders and other conference attendees from across the country.

Conference organizers said all candidates from both the Democratic and Republican parties were invited to speak at this year’s eighth annual NIIC conference, titled "New American Dreams: Advancing Opportunity, Equality & Justice."

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo are also scheduled to address the conference.

The NIIC conference is co-hosted by the National Partnership for New Americans and the New York Immigration Coalition, along with Executive Committee members Make the Road NY and Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition
