FORT GREENE — New York seniors can stay healthy this fall with a bevy of free exercise classes in local parks.

In Fort Greene, twice-weekly yoga classes begin Sept. 21 in South Oxford Park, open to all and free of charge. The classes aim to improve seniors' physical health as well as emotional well-being, according to the City Parks Foundation.

The six-week course meets Mondays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at the intersection of South Oxford Street and Atlantic Avenue.

The City Parks Foundation, which sponsors the program, also runs tennis classes and walking groups in parks in all five boroughs. Those interested should register in advance for the free programs online.

For the under-60 contingent, free yoga classes are offered weekly at the Jane Bailey Memorial Garden on Greene Avenue, and Brooklyn Bridge Park runs an hour-long "Sunset Pilates" class on Wednesday evenings.
