CLINTON HILL — The construction boom along Fulton Street and Myrtle Avenue will yield 232 affordable apartments in newly constructed buildings this year, according to city data.
The seven new residential buildings going up this year — most on city-owned land — include affordable components as part of the mayor's plan to build or preserve 20,000 affordable apartments this year. They will also house hundreds of market-rate rentals.
On the map above, green dots signify already-built affordable apartments that are being preserved and blue dots show new construction.
Here's where the new housing will be located:
CLINTON HILL
►551 Waverly Ave.
A 191-unit building is set to rise at the former site of Beigel's Bakery, which will include 38 affordable apartments.
Construction has not started, and challah was spotted there Friday.
►882 Fulton St.
A seven-story building from the Daten Group on the site of the former Coastal gas station will have eight affordable apartments, according to the New York City office of Housing Preservation & Development.
►490 Myrtle Ave.
The new complex near the Pratt Institute will yield 19 affordable apartments, according to HPD data.
FORT GREENE
►166 Myrtle Ave.
John Catsimatidis has built a series of buildings on Myrtle Avenue near the bridge. The building at 166 Myrtle Ave. will have 29 affordable units, according to HPD.
►286 Ashland Pl.
A 32-story Two Trees tower with 384 units will yield 77 affordable units, HPD said. The site, on city-owned land, will also contain retail and cultural space, according to Curbed.
►19 Lafayette Ave.
Another in the bountiful crop of towers near the Brooklyn Academy of Music, this former parking lot from developer Jonathan Rose will include 50 affordable apartments.
