BROOKLYN — A Pratt Institute security guard was beaten when he confronted a teen on campus late Friday night, police said.

The 66-year-old guard, whose name was not immediately released, was doing his regular rounds inside 200 Willoughby Ave., the main building of the 128-year-old arts school, about 11 p.m. when he spotted the teen standing in the building's lobby, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The guard asked what the boy was doing there, police said. Instead of answering, the boy punched the guard in the face, knocking him to the ground where he hit his head, police said.

The guard tried to stand up but the suspect, who is about 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, repeatedly punched his face and body, police said.

He suffered a cut and bruising to his face, police said.

The boy, who can be seen holding hands with someone on surveillance footage, fled the scene, police said.

He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, T-shirt and glasses, police said.

The Pratt Institute did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
