CLINTON HILL — A woman was arrested for beating her disabled niece with a belt inside a Waverly Avenue home, police said.

The aunt, 51, was arrested May 29 on child abuse charges after she struck her 11-year-old niece on the back and knee, according to police and Brooklyn District Attorney's office.

The child reported that she was in significant pain and feared for her safety during the beating, according to the NYPD.

It is unclear if she was taken to the hospital.

The city Administration for Children's Services was notified of the incident. The agency did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The aunt, who was served with an order of protection, was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

She is next set to appear in court on July 30.

Her lawyer could not be reached for comment.
