CLINTON HILL — The ex-boyfriend of a sandwich shop worker threatened to kill her and lock her in the eatery's closet before stealing her cellphone and purse, police said.

Sadem Awawdeh, 24, entered the Myrtle Avenue eatery May 30 at about 1:30 p.m. looking for his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend, who worked there, police said.

When Awawdeh saw his ex, he demanded that she give him her cellphone and purse, threatening to kill her if she did not, the NYPD said.

He then tried to lock her in the shop's storage closet, but the woman escaped and attempted to call 911, according to police.

Awawdeh managed to grab her cellphone and purse before running out of the shop, police said.

He was arrested a half-hour later and charged with menacing, harrassment and larceny, police said.

Employees at the shop declined to comment.

Awawdeh's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
