CLINTON HILL — A new building with a terrace, vegetable garden and reflecting pools is set to open on Myrtle Avenue and it will cost just $1,014 a month for a two-bedroom in some cases, a fraction of the market rate.

490 Myrtle Ave., a new development located near Hall Street, has seven one-bedrooms for $877 a month and five studios for $816 a month under the city's affordable housing program.

It also has seven two-bedroom apartments available for $1,064 — just 25 percent of the average cost for a similarly-sized unit in the neighborhood.

The 93-unit building provides residents with a fitness center, reflecting pools with cabanas, dog run, bike storage, barbecue and dining area and laundry room, according to the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

It is unclear what the reflecting pools and cabanas will look like or where they will be located within the building.

It will also house a TD Bank and Key Food on the ground floor — both of which are set to open in upcoming weeks, according to the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership.

Applications for the affordable units are currently online and are due on June 11.

There are income requirements to qualify for the units.

For example, families of two must make between $38,538 and $41,460 while families of four must make between $38,538 and $51,780 to qualify for a two-bedroom apartment. For a full list of requirements and to apply click here.

The units will be ready in September.
