CLINTON HILL — A lot that has been vacant for years on Myrtle Avenue might soon host new housing and commercial space.

Plans were recently filed with the Department of Buildings to construct a five-story, mixed-use building on the empty lot next to Corkscrew Wines at 491 Myrtle Ave., Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership announced.

Issac and Stern Architects, which designed several buildings throughout the city including St. John’s University in Queens and 1007 Atlantic Ave. in Crown Heights, are known for the use of brick in their projects.

A rendering of the proposed building has not yet been released and the architects could not be reached for comment.

The building, if approved, would have six residential units on the upper floors and space for a business on the ground floor.

The lot has been empty since 2010 when a one-story, wood-framed structure was demolished on the lot, according to records.

A timeline for the project is unclear. The Dept. of Building application is pending zoning approval.
