FORT GREENE — Calling all sneakerheads.

The leafy streets of Fort Greene were the inspiration behind the colors of a new sneaker — complete with a retro look that pays tribute to the tree-lined landscape.

J. Crew partnered with New Balance to create the "Fort Greene" — a retro sneaker in olive green and yellow accents.

J. Crew originally spelled the sneaker color "Fort Green" but later corrected the misspelling.

The color combination was created for the landscape of the neighborhood, according to a spokeswoman for J. Crew.

The sneaker, a New Balance 1400, was originally released in 1994 and is made of mesh and suede with rubber soles.

The Fort Greene edition is made with "never-before-seen custom colors," according to J. Crew, and there is a limited number for sale.

"Run, don't walk — these will go fast," a description of the sneakers states. "This is as exclusive as it gets."

The "Fort Greene" sneakers cost $160 and are only sold at the J. Crew online store.
