QUEENS — Police are looking for a man with a heart tattoo who stole a pack of Luvs diapers from a store in Hollis and punched the owner in the face before fleeing Monday, police said.

The man came to 205 Deli Grocery, on Hollis Avenue near 205th Street, around 9:50 a.m.

He grabbed a pack of Luvs diapers, worth around $15, and was trying to leave the store, police said.

When the 59-year-old owner was trying to stop him, the man punched him in the face.

The victim, who suffered a cut to the left side of his forehead, was treated at the scene, authorities said.

A man who picked up the phone at the deli Wednesday morning told DNAinfo.com that the suspect has been a regular customer at the location where he usually buys food products. He has not come to the store since the incident, the man said.

Police have released surveillance video of the suspect, who is described as being approximately 30 years old. He has brown eyes and short black hair. He is approximately 5-foot-8 and weighs about 180 pounds. The suspect also has a tattoo of a heart under his left eye, officials said.
