CLINTON HILL — Police arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman after she asked him for help following an earlier attack that day.

The news in the horrific double sexual assault came as the lawyer for the suspect in the first case insisted that his client was arrested in a case of mistaken identity.

Daquan Jackson, 21, was picked up on Sept. 24 and charged with criminal sex act for allegedly attacking a 31-year-old woman outside 58 Irving Pl. around 6 a.m. on Aug. 31.

The woman was asking Jackson for help following an attack an hour earlier when Jackson pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Jackson, of Red Hook, threatened the use of a gun, but did not display one, according to the NYPD.

The woman was first attacked at 5 a.m. by Nicholas Isaac, 17, who was arrested Saturday and charged with a criminal sexual act, sex abuse, assault and robbery, police said.

It is unclear if the two suspects knew each other.

Isaac, whose mother Michelle Allen owns local bar Mirrors on Grand, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment for criminal sex act, sex abuse and robbery on Sept. 20, according to the DA's office.

Allen declined comment.

Isaac's lawyer, Darren Fields, said his client was misidentified by the victim in a lineup after his pre-trial Thursday morning.

"Police were looking for a man that is 5-foot-7 and my client is at least 6-foot-2," he said. "There is absolutely nothing to indicate he was involved with this woman at all."

Issac, who lives just blocks from where the assault occurred, allegedly grabbed the woman's arm and pushed her onto the stoop of the building while threatening to shoot her if she did not perform a sex act.

He then assaulted her while she struggled to get away and later stole her purse, according to documents.
