
BROOKLYN — A man who shoved his face under the skirt of a woman on the steps of the DeKalb Avenue subway station and then punching and kicking her last month was arrested Friday, police said.
James Barnes, 61, who lives at on Saint Marks Avenue, was behind the woman while walking out of the Downtown Brooklyn subway station, near DeKalb Avenue and the Flatbush Avenue Extension, when he attacked her about 10 p.m. on Aug. 8, according to the NYPD.
The 32-year-old victim tried to push the suspect away, but he threw her onto the stairs and began punching and kicking her before running away, police said.
She suffered bruises, but was not taken to a hospital, according to the police.
Barnes was chaged with assault and sexual abuse.
