BROOKLYN — A man was injured when a Manhattan-bound A train ran over him inside the Jay Street-MetroTech subway station Monday afternoon, officials said.

The man, whose name and age were not released, was hurt about 12:50 p.m. inside the station, near Jay Street and Willoughby Street, according to FDNY and NYPD officials.

The man was taken to Lutheran hospital, officials said.

It was not immediately clear how he got onto the tracks or if the train hit him. Police said they were still investigating the incident.

A and C trains were briefly disrupted, but returned to normal service about 40 minutes later with some delays, MTA officials said.
