FORT GREENE — Locals heading to work Monday morning found their car windows smashed and their belongings vanished.

Nine cars on Park Avenue under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway were either vandalized or robbed overnight Monday, police said.

Thieves snatched GPS units, cash and clothing from some of the cars parked overnight between Clermont Avenue and Cumberland Street, while others were vandalized but not robbed, the NYPD said.

A front driver’s side or passenger's side window was smashed in every incident.

Resident George Patterson found a passenger-side window of his car smashed, with nothing taken from inside — even cash he had left on the dashboard.

He said he had parked under the BQE for the past five years without incident.

Local Patricia Lee found a window of her Nissan shattered.

"I'm glad nothing was taken," said Lee's daughter, who declined to give her name. "Still, there is glass everywhere and we don't know if our insurance will cover this."

"My mother was shocked to walk up to her car and see glass and all of her CDs and personal items all over the street."

A larceny and criminal mischief investigation is ongoing, police said. No arrests had been made as of early afternoon Tuesday.
