DUMBO — New food options might soon be joining DUMBO's popular food trucks.

The DUMBO Business Improvement District (BID) is in search of a partner to manage up to 40 food and drink vendors in the Pearl Street Triangle and nearby "Archway" under the Manhattan Bridge.

"This is going to be a major neighborhood amenity," said BID director Alexandria Sica. "A place for our creatives to grab a bite, take a sip and collaborate. A place for DUMBOnians to meet friends and families to sit around the picnic table. The Archway is an epic spot. It's cool in the summer and it's protected from the rain."

The chosen applicant will manage vendors operating food and drink stands in a "market-like" atmosphere "several days a week" for lunch, after work hours and dinner. Stands will be stationary but can be moved when needed. Vendors will also have the opportunity to be present during special events, according to the recently released Request for Proposals (RFP).

Proposals are due on March 7, 2014.
