FORT GREENE — Police are searching for suspects in the robbery at the Wash and Play Laundromat in Fort Greene, the NYPD said.

A man and woman held up an employee at gunpoint at around 9:08 p.m. on February 4, bound him to chair with duct tape, took cash and electronics and fled, leaving the employee unharmed, police said.

Employee Kazi Monira, 38, said the robbers took the cash register and cut the security camera cable at the 81 Lafayette Ave. laundromat. She said the employee on duty during the armed robbery was the Fort Greene laundromat owner's son.

"The owner is very good, everybody is very good. Of course, if you [pull] a gun, it's sad," said Monira.

Police said the robbers took a phone, the cash register, the DVR security system, $300 in cash and a personal check.

The male suspect, about 35-years-old, 5-foot-8 and 250 pounds, had brown eyes a goatee, police said. He was last seen in a black jacket, black jeans, a skullcap and black boots, with a semiautomatic pistol.

Police said the female suspect, about 28-years-old, was 5-foot-5, 130 pounds with brown eyes and black hair worn in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans, a black skullcap and black sneakers, police said.

Wash and Play employee Monira, who lives in Borough Park, said she felt a little less safe on the job. "People said this was a quiet neighborhood, but after it happened I began to feel a little scared," said Monira.
