DUMBO — RedBeard Bikes has outgrown its current space.

The specialty bike shop will soon be moving from its spot at 165 Front St. to a new location almost six times the size and just around the corner at 69 Jay St. in DUMBO.

"Our space has just become to cramped," said owner Ilya Nikhamin. "In the new location we will have room to turn around, literally."

When Nikhamin opened RedBeard one year ago he thought it would just be him in the shop. But after six months in business he realized he would need more staff and inventory to serve the bicycle-loving neighborhood.

When retail shop The White Gown moved to Manhattan, Nikhamin jumped at the chance to rent its storefront.

Now with increased square footage, RedBeard will add a sitting area, up to three new mechanic stations, bicycle clothing and dressing rooms, plus a whole slew of new stock including mountain, children's and tandem bikes.

The store will be open in its new location on Nov. 7.
