BROOKLYN — A bicyclist was seriously hurt after a truck hit him in Downtown Brooklyn Sunday night, a police spokesman said.
The 34-year-old cyclist was heading south on Smith Street and tried to turn left onto Schermerhorn Street when a northbound 2004 GMC truck slammed into him, the spokesman said.
The cyclist suffered internal injuries and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition, police said.
The truck's 35-year-old driver remained on the scene and was not expected to be charged, police said.
