DUMBO — Local firm Midtown Equities was selected to redevelop the former coffee and dry-goods warehouse Empire Stores in Brooklyn Bridge Park, according to a published report.

Ten developers, including DUMBO's own Two Trees Management, vied for the coveted job but Midtown Equities ultimately won the bid, the Daily News first reported.

Run by father-son team Joseph and Jack Cayre, Midtown Equities' proposal includes restaurants and  stores on the ground floor and office space above. A rooftop terrace with trees and green space will provide a view of the East River and Lower Manhattan skyline.

Midtown Equities has already secured leases for 80 percent of the space, according to the News, with DUMBO-based Etsy and West Elm competing for a spot in the 327,000-square-foot warehouse.

Money made from the finished space will reportedly be put toward the upkeep and development of Brooklyn Bridge Park.
