FORT GREENE — It will be a different series of busts for a retired NYPD detective who hopes to open a bikini bar in the Fort Greene area.

Renae Caeser, a New Jersey restaurant/bar manager, presented a plan at Wednesday night's Community Board 2 meeting to open a high-end bikini bar with Michael Bell, a retired NYPD detective and owner of Ground Zero Security and Investigations.

"I am here to inform you about a new business idea," Caeser told meeting participants. "I am proposing a new upscale bikini bar with absolutely no nudity for the Downtown Brooklyn area."

Caeser and Bell are in the beginning stages of planning but wanted to gauge the community's response to their proposal.

The meeting's general reaction was subdued with only two comments concerning the proximity of the bikini bar to families and children. Caeser said she was "not disappointed" with the community's attitude toward her proposed for adult entertainment space in the neighborhood.

The proposed venue will be located in an area zoned for manufacturing. Caeser is looking at locations on Atlantic Avenue near the Barclays arena or on Flushing and Park Avenues in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

The bikini bar will have a stage, full bar and snacks. The entire staff — bartenders, servers, and dancers — will be bikini clad. Caeser said she plans to hire dancers from nearby neighborhoods and colleges, paying them "primarily in tips." She will also seek a cabaret license.

She plans to go before the board again in the fall when she has decided on a venue and name for the club.

East Williamsburg's Pumps Exotic Dancing is the only bikini bar currently located in north Brooklyn.
