NEW YORK CITY — Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and Jon Bon Jovi will perform a benefit concert in Manhattan for victims of Hurricane Sandy, NBC announced Thursday.
The event, "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," will be held at Rockefeller Center and broadcast at 8 p.m. on NBC and its cable stations Bravo, CNBC, USA, MSNBC and E!, according to The Associated Press.
Christina Aguilera and Sting will also reportedly perform, and NBC noted that the telecast will feature Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams. Proceeds from the show will go to the Red Cross.
NBC's Matt Lauer, who will host the event, announced the concert Thursday morning on the "Today" show.
Springsteen and Bon Jovi hail from New Jersey, and Joel is from Long Island, which are both some of the areas most impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
