There was no service between Manhattan and Brooklyn while police investigated the package.  

People saw something and said something 406 times Saturday night through Monday afternoon, police said.

The device, dropped off at Engine 257 and Ladder 170 at 1361 Rockaway Pkwy., was deemed harmless.
