FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Buy a bottle of hard cider and some farm-fresh greens at a new weekly outdoor market heading to Water Street.

The greenmarket will feature seven farmers and vendors selling locally made cheeses and breads, along with produce, wines and hard cider from upstate New York. Vendors will set up shop every Thursday along Coenties Slip and Water Street, between Hanover Square and Broad Street. The market will run every Thursday from Sept. 18 through Nov. 20, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The greenmarket's organizer, nonprofit GrowNYC, decided to pursue a weekly market on Water Street after the success of several night markets that were held along the same streets over the summer.

GrowNYC is curating the Water Street market in partnership with the Downtown Alliance.

Along with food and alcohol for sale, the market will also offer free recipes and weekly cooking demonstrations.
