FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Grab a beer, sip some wine — and pick up some farm-fresh veggies — at an outdoor Night Market popping up in the Financial District Thursday.

Eight farmers selling locally sourced produce, meats and cheeses will line two Downtown blocks, and three restaurants will open stalls serving dishes featuring seasonal ingredients, as well as beer and wine. The market will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Water Street and Coenties Slip, between Broad Street and Old Slip.

Participating restaurants include two Stone Street staples, Adrienne’s Pizza Bar and pub Ulysses, as well as Downtown-based catering company La Cuisine.

GrowNYC, the nonprofit that runs numerous city greenmarkets, is curating the Night Market, in partnership with the Downtown Alliance.

In addition to food and drinks, there will be live jazz, hosted by the Jazz Foundation, and family-friendly activities.

"Night Markets connect the consumers cooking in their home kitchens to the chefs who transform the raw ingredients into awe-inspiring creations the critics rave over,” GrowNYC executive director Marcel VanOoyen said in a statement.

“It’s a fun way to spend a summer night when neighbors, farmers, chefs and all stripes and types of New Yorkers come out to celebrate the kick-off of the season and to share some wonderful food — from our own region."

The Night Market is scheduled to return for one more night this summer, on July 17. Head to GrowNYC's website for more information.
