MANHATTAN — Pace University's director of cultural affairs was arraigned Wednesday on child porn charges, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office said.

After allegedly posting ads on Craigslist looking for the "nubile girl next door," David G. Watson, 62, who works out of Pace's downtown Manhattan campus, came in contact with an undercover investigator from the Westchester County DA's office, prosecutors said.

The investigator, who was posing as a like-minded connoisseur of child pornography, set up a meet with Watson at an Elmsford, N.Y. motel — near his home in Rye Brook, N.Y. — for Tuesday, where the two would allegedly share material, according to a spokesman for the DA's office.

Watson allegedly showed up to the meet with "various images of minor children in sexually suggestive poses" and was taken into custody, prosecutors said.

Authorities conducted a search of the defendant's home and found additional material "containing obscene performances by children," according to the DA.

Watson is charged with one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one count of possessing child porn, prosecutors said.

Pace University issued a statement saying that they had learned of Watson's arraignment this morning.

"Mr. Watson has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the legal proceedings," the statement read.

Watson's bail was set at $10,000 bond, $5,000 cash. Watson faces up to seven years in prison.

His next court date will be on Dec. 8.
