Prior to joining the tech team, Maria spent a whirlwind decade inside the infamous blue and yellow walls of IKEA. She honed her problem-solving skills early on within the Customer Service Department before moving on to Sales. While part of the Sales Team, she was chosen to take part in the launch of a local-market based website and media campaign promoting small businesses.
Toward the end of her tenure at IKEA, Maria switched gears and took on the role of local IT Support for the store on Long Island.
She acted as the Sytstem Administrator — emergency repair technician, software trainer, and password enforcer — for more than 200 users. When she wasn’t magically making something work with nothing but her mere presence, Maria was often seen scurrying about the building answering questions, and checking to see if things were properly turned on.
Maria graduated from Hunter College with a degree in literature. She also attended Nassau Community College where she received a certificate in Advertising Art. Maria received her IT training on the job.
Fun Fact: Constantly gets lost during recreational walks around her own neighborhood.
