Justin Cobb

Software Engineer Contact

Justin Elliott Cobb is a Software Engineer working for DNAinfo on the Neighborhood Square team.

Justin’s journey to software engineering was a long and circuitous one, beginning with ambitions to program games when he entered the field in the late 1990s.

Detours through algorithmic art, visual effects animation, presentation and roadshow graphics, physics, and mathematics ultimately contributed to a diverse skillset that came to fruition while working for MTV Networks.

His interest in front-end Javascript frameworks crystallized over the intervening years, and he contributed to flagship software at SnagFilms and Professional Examination Service before landing at DNAinfo.

Justin has a BFA in Computer Art from the University at Buffalo, and studies Physics and Mathematics at CUNY Hunter College in New York City.

He is an avid runner, science fiction and cosmic horror fan, brewer, and a reasonably good cook.

Fun Fact: Justin is a Tarot practitioner and enthusiast, as it appeals to his love of random numbers, art, and history.
