Andrea Swalec is a News Editor for DNAinfo. She has previously served as a reporter/producer covering Greenwich Village and SoHo.

Before joining DNAinfo she worked as a news editor for NBC and a producer for WNYC Radio.

Andrea has a master's in multimedia journalism from CUNY's Graduate School of Journalism. Andrea grew up in a suburb of Detroit and graduated from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich., where she studied writing. She lived in Senegal and Japan while in college and was then a Fulbright scholar to Morocco, where she studied Arabic.
