Aidan Gardiner is a News Editor covering the five boroughs.

Before joining DNAinfo, Aidan interned for the New York Times' Cityroom blog and freelanced for The Villager and Queens Chronicle.

He majored in urban studies at The New School, but fell in with the student newspaper crowd and never escaped. He went on to study journalism at Columbia. Later, he returned to The New School to teach a freshman class about journalism and New York history.

Aidan grew up in San Francisco's Castro district, across from a bar called The Men's Room and down the street from another called Moby Dick. He now lives in Brooklyn.

Fun fact: Aidan once danced on stage to "Smooth" during a Santana concert. There will never be a repeat performance.
