WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A second suspect is under arrest in connection with last year's shooting death of a 41-year-old Washington Heights man.
Tyreke Singleton, 18, was arrested Wednesday morning, more than a year after he and Harlem resident Gaston Taveras, 18, shot Dejon McInnis in the leg outside of 500 W. 157th St. on April 15, 2016, police said.
McInnis, who sources said had several vials of crack on him at the time, was taken to Harlem Hospital and pronounced dead, after the bullet possibly struck an artery.
Police said that while video released in connection with the shooting shows two people who appear to be Singleton and Taveras, the investigation is still ongoing.
Police charged Singleton with murder, gang assault, assault and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
It was not immediately clear if he had been arraigned as of Thursday morning.
