EAST FLATBUSH — Police armed with a warrant busted a drug den on Winthrop Street last week — finding cocaine, methadone, and a loaded handgun alongside drug dealing paraphernalia, they said.

Narcotics officers arrested Michael Diaz, 40, and Patricia Davis, 27, inside an apartment on Winthrop Street and Albany Avenue on March 24, which also contained a loaded .25 caliber Bauer handgun, scales and multiple Ziploc bags and bottles containing evidence of cocaine and methadone in the apartment.

The pair was arraigned the next day on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges, court records show.

Diaz was ordered held on $2,500 bail. His representatives from Brooklyn Defender Services could not be reached for comment. Davis was released from custody without bail and her Legal Aid lawyer could not be reached for comment.

► Police arrested two people inside an apartment where officers, acting on a search warrant, found a two BB guns, .25 caliber ammunition and drug paraphernalia on March 24. A 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested after the search at the apartment on Eastern Parkway and Schenectady Avenue. The man has been charged with a misdemeanor and violation for possession of marijuana and pistol ammunition. The woman was issued a summons, prosecutors said. The search warrant was unrelated to the Winthrop Street bust described above.

► A 57-year-old worker at a Utica Avenue variety store was robbed and assaulted outside the shop last week. Three men approached the victim outside 314 Utica Ave. at approximately 4:10 p.m. on March 22 and stole sunglasses, a cellphone case and multiple baseball hats from the store, then hit the worker in the face and fled on foot. There have been no arrests.

► A 37-year-old woman reported to police that she left an envelope containing $5,000 in money orders in a briefcase inside the post office at 315 Empire Blvd. at about 2:10 p.m. on March 24. She left the building for three to five minutes, she told police, and when she came back, the briefcase was gone.
