THE BRONX — A woman followed a 71-year-old into the elevator of an Allerton apartment building before punching her and stealing her purse containing $45, police sources said.
The robbery occurred inside a building near Cruger Avenue and Pelham Parkway about 7:40 a.m. Saturday, when the suspect hit the elderly victim in the stomach before snatching her purse, which also contained a debit card, the NYPD said.
The suspect is described as standing about 5-foot-9, weighing 190 pounds with long braided hair. She was last seen wearing a brown jacket and brown pants, police said.
