CRIME BLOTTER: Woman Robbed of $600 Walking Home on Lefferts Ave.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — A 25-year-old woman was shoved to the ground and robbed as she walked home on Lefferts Avenue Saturday morning, police said.

The woman had just parked her car near Bedford Avenue around 5 a.m. on Jan. 21 when a suspect came up to her, pushed her to the ground and took her purse containing her wallet and $600 cash.

The woman chased the suspect west toward Bedford Avenue and north to Lincoln Road, but lost track of the thief soon afterwards. No suspect has been identified in the robbery and no arrests have been made, police said.

► A 39-year-old man was arrested for leaving a cab without paying, police said. The victim drove the man to 1710 Carroll St. at 5:40 a.m. on Jan. 18 when the passenger held an unknown object to the back of the driver’s head, told him to open the door, then fled without paying the $44 fare. The man was identified a short time later in a canvass of the area and was taken into custody. Upon his arrest, police found crack cocaine and two bags of marijuana. The 24-year-old driver was uninjured during the incident.

► A 19-year-old man was arrested for using a Taser to rob three male teenagers ages 17, 17 and 19 of an iPhone. The armed robbery took place at 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 18 inside 800 Eastern Parkway. Police said the suspect used the Taser to threaten his victims, but never used the device during the robbery.

► Two men were arrested for illegal possession of a weapon when police found a handgun in their car during a traffic stop. The men, ages 25 and 26, were stopped on the corner of Bedford Avenue and Fenimore Street at 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 20 for an expired inspection sticker and a defective brake light. During the car stop, police found a .38 caliber revolver inside the 2001 Mitsubishi and arrested both men.

► Two men ages 30 and 32 were arrested after police executed a search warrant at their apartment on Hawthorne Street between Flatbush and Bedford avenues on Jan. 21. Inside, police found two guns — a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol and a 12-gauge shotgun, both loaded — dozens of rounds of ammunition, 15 forged credit cards and two credit card skimming devices.
