PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday for threatening a 12-year-old boy with a handgun as he walked home from school on Parkside Avenue, police said.

The victim was walking in front of 655 Parkside Ave. just after 3 p.m. on Jan. 17 when the 14-year-old approached him from behind and threatened with him with a firearm.

The 12-year-old immediately ran away, dropping his cell phone as he ran, police said. The older boy picked up the phone and fled on foot. There were no injuries during the incident.

It’s unclear which school either boy attended or if they knew each other prior to the incident.

The 14-year-old was arrested a short time after the incident and will face charges in family court, police said.
