BROOKLYN — The hit-and-run driver who fled on foot after fatally striking a pedestrian in East New York on New Year’s Day surrendered to police on Wednesday.
Ted Jerome, 23, was charged with leaving a fatal accident and driving without a license after fatally striking a 53-year-old man with his Lexus on Conduit Boulevard and Pine Street about 5:10 a.m., police said.
Jerome then struck a guardrail before taking off on foot, the NYPD said.
The unidentified victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital but couldn’t be saved.
Jerome turned himself at the 75th Precinct. He was awaiting arraignment Wednesday.
