BROOKLYN — A crew of young men have been luring other teens to an Ocean Hill subway station by arranging fake sales through Facebook and then robbing them, the NYPD said.

A group of eight men first attacked a 15-year-old boy at the Rockaway Avenue C station on the afternoon of Aug. 29, after he made arrangements with an unknown person through Facebook to sell his sneakers, according to the NYPD.

The crew approached the teen at the station and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t give up his shoes, police said. He refused and they started to punch him in the face and body before he managed to flee with his sneakers.

Then, on Oct. 20, a 16-year-old boy was attacked at the same station after making arrangements through Facebook to sell a hoodie.

One suspect pulled off his necklace and backpack containing the sweatshirt and headphones before running off. The victim gave chase but was then punched in the face by a second suspect, police said. Both the teens then fled the station with his property.

Police released photographs of two suspects, who were described as between 17 and 19 years old, and standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
