EDGEMERE — More than 100 fire fighters battled a fire that broke out in a strip of abandoned stores that were burned two years ago in another fire, officials said.
Fire officials received a call about a fire at 53-09 Beach Channel Dr. just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
It quickly spread, requiring 106 firefighters and emergency responders who put the blaze out before 7 p.m.

The one-story commercial building has been vacant for years, and was partially gutted by another fire in 2014.
The cause of the recent fire is still under investigation by the FDNY.
