People chanted, screamed, held placards that read "Not My President" outside Trump Tower Wednesday night. One man grabbed a bullhorn and urged the crowd to fight the policies of the country's just-elected president.

Several thousand protesters marched in the rain from Union Square up Fifth Avenue to Trump's Midtown skyscraper while chanting and holding signs depicting the president-elect as a tyrannical bigot.

Trump's election has changed this part of the neighborhood: His building is now fortified with concrete barriers, and it seems likely to be a destination for protests for years to come.

The barriers were also expected to create increased traffic congestion in Midtown
