Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means winter break is probably closer than you think.

New York City's public schools will be closed for the break starting on Monday, Dec. 26, since both Christmas Eve and Christmas fall on a weekend this year.

Children will be back in the classroom on Tuesday, Jan. 3, after six school days off, according to the Department of Education's calendar.
