KINGSBRIDGE — A fourth suspect has been arrested in the fatal beating of a New York man, police said.

Jose Mendez, 20, was arrested on Thursday morning and charged with manslaughter in the death of 36-year-old Donnell Soto, who Mendez and a group of other people are suspected of attacking outside of the Parrilla Latina restaurant at 5523 Broadway in The Bronx around 4:15 a.m. on Oct. 2, officials said.

The attack occurred when Soto pushed 22-year-old Jenny Gutierrez during an argument the two were having, after which a group of people rushed in to repeatedly punch and kick him, according to law enforcement officials.

Soto was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital after the beating and later died from his injuries, police said.

Officers had previously arrested Gutierrez, 23-year-old Hector Quezada and 23-year-old Joel Hernandez in the attack, all of whom have been indicted on manslaughter charges.

Mendez had not been arraigned yet as of early Thursday afternoon, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.

Police are still searching for two more suspects in the attack, according to the NYPD.
