By  Eddie Small and Ben Fractenberg | October 24, 2016 4:21pm

OLINVILLE — A 15-year-old high school student was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted after getting off of the 2 train at the Gun Hill Road stop early Monday morning, police said.

The girl exited the 2 train around 4:40 a.m. and met an unknown man at the station who walked with her to Bronx Park near the Bronx River by the corner of East 213th Street and Bronx Boulevard, according to the NYPD.

The man then viciously attacked the girl, severely injuring her head before fleeing east on East 213th Street, police said.

Officials believe the victim fought back against her assailant, and she was taken to Montefiore Medical Center Hospital and listed in stable condition, according to police.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce described the incident as "very troubling" and stressed that the victim had been "severely, physically assaulted."

Police released video footage of the suspect on Tuesday morning.

Officials described the suspect as 25 years old and standing 5-foot-10, with a medium build and a medium complexion.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black Champion hooded sweatshirt with the "C" logo, black gloves and Timberland boots, and he had scabs on his lips, police said.

Video shows the suspect running down the sidewalk by 3575 Bronx Blvd.
