CRIME BLOTTER: Man Steals Ray Bans Off 13-Year-Old Girl's Face

CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a man who robbed a 13-year-old girl of her Ray Ban sunglasses as she walked along her block on Oct. 7.

The teen was wearing the $395 pair of sunglasses as she walked on Montgomery Street near Troy Avenue at 2:30 p.m. when the suspect came up from behind her, grabbed the glasses off her head and ran away, police said.

The girl suffered a small scratch on the side of her face during the incident but was otherwise uninjured, police said.

The suspect has yet to be identified or arrested.

► A 20-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint at 3:30 a.m. on Carroll Street between Kingston and Albany avenues on Oct. 7. The woman was walking along the residential street when two men approached her, threatened her with a black handgun and said “give me your s--t” and “where’s your phone?” The woman handed over her Michael Kors purse containing $100 in cash and her ID. The men fled on foot.

► A parked 2014 Lexus sedan was damaged by two bullets shot by an unknown suspect on Maple Street between Kingston and Albany avenues around 11:12 p.m. on Oct. 7. No one was injured in the shooting.

► A 51-year-old cab driver told police he was pistol whipped and robbed of a $53 fare by a customer in East Flatbush. The driver was dropping off a male passenger at Winthrop Street and East 45th Street around 4 a.m. on Oct. 8 when the man hit him in the head with a black handgun and fled north on Troy Avenue.

► Two men were arrested at the Utica Avenue subway stop on Eastern Parkway on Oct. 10 for swiping riders into the station using tampered MetroCards in exchange for cash. Officers observed the men, aged 20 and 37, taking cash from riders and then using bent MetroCards to swipe them into the turnstiles. Upon their arrest, the men were found to have six and 25 of the altered MetroCards in their pockets, respectively.

► A 45-year-old man was arrested at Crown Street and Troy Avenue for possession of a loaded .25 caliber Titan handgun and for driving a stolen Nissan sedan. The arrest took place around 3:35 a.m. on Oct. 11.
